Our Campus

Dalton Elementary is located at 600 North Fourth Street, the northeastern division of Uvalde, Texas. Dalton houses pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. The campus is full of smiles from staff and students.  The average yearly student population is about 750 students. There are nine PK classrooms, each classroom has a full time assistant. There are eight kindergarten classrooms, ten first and second grade classrooms. 

Our mission statement is, “Enter to Learn, Exit to Lead”. We aim to build the educational foundation and grow our students with collaborative and engaging learning strategies.

The pre-kindergarten curriculum is based on the Texas Pre-K Guidelines and state adopted materials. Teacher directed timelines are also utilized. The kindergarten, first, and second grades curriculum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), state adopted materials and expertise of the professional on campus. Each grade level consists of a full day instructional program. The Dalton staff is composed of one principal, two assistant principals, and 50 classroom teachers. We have about 30 para professionals.Dalton’s faculty include two physical education coaches with two assistants, a  part-time librarian, two full time counselors, and two nurses. We have five functional life skills teachers and two special education resource teachers (academic and behavioral).
